Relec Abbey

Description

Relec Abbey, with its 12th century abbey church, its pond, its gardens is a unique place, hidden in the Arrée mountains, bordered by moors and forests. Imbued with serenity, it is a place for walks and discoveries thanks to the activities offered, for adults and children alike. The reception area allows you to discover the history of the abbey through an immersive visual and audio system. It allows you to better understand this monastery and to appreciate it, then in knowledge, during a walk in the abbey church, the ruins of the cloister, on the causeway of the pond or in the vegetable garden.
Concerts in the abbey and gardens in summer offer a new approach to the place and enrich the relationship with heritage and nature.

The remains of the abbey constitute a mosaic of environments which are home to a great diversity of animal and plant species. Various protected mammals also find shelter and food there: the otter and several species of bats in particular.
