Welcome to Glénan, a Breton treasure in the heart of the ocean

Just off the coast of southern Finistère, the Glénan archipelago in Fouesnant is a true natural gem. Comprised of seven main islands surrounded by numerous islets and sandbanks, this heavenly setting evokes tropical landscapes with its turquoise waters and pristine white sand.

Classified as a Natura 2000 site, the archipelago is home to unique flora and fauna, including the famous Glénan narcissus, an endemic plant found nowhere else. It is also an iconic place for sea lovers, popular for diving, sailing and hiking.

How to get there ?

Want to head to the Glénan archipelago? Accessible only from April to September, the Glénan archipelago is a treasure trove for lovers of the great outdoors. About fifteen kilometers from the coast, head to Saint-Nicolas for a magical day. Find the different means of transport to get there here!

Board a passenger boat
You can board this type of boat from Bénodet or Concarneau to reach Saint-Nicolas, the only island on which you can dock in the Glénan Islands, for a stopover. Crossing time: approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.
Crossings will generally be offered for half a day (departure in the early afternoon and return around 18 p.m.). variable hours depending on the tides). Enjoy a crossing aboard the Vedettes de l’Odet to reach our dream archipelago. The stopover time may also vary depending on the type of cruise chosen. For Handicapped, there are a few recommendations to know when embarking with a wheelchair and then moving around the island; the same goes for strollers : upon simple request, we will provide you with information.
  • In April, May, June and September : you will embark from Bénodet and Concarneau
  • In July and August : you can get there from the ports of:
    • Beg-Meil: Tuesday to Saturday at 10 a.m. and 15 p.m.,
    • Bénodet: Tuesday to Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and every day at 11:00 a.m. and 13:30 p.m.,
    • Port-la-Forêt: Tuesday to Saturday at 9:45 a.m. and 13:30 p.m.,
    • Concarneau: Tuesday to Friday at 11:00 a.m. and 14:00 p.m. and every day at 10:00 a.m. and 13:00 p.m.

Experience a sailing boat
Joining the Glénan Islands by sail means breathing in the deep sea air and also taking part in the maneuvers. Departing from Port-la-Forêt, board a sailboat and take part in the maneuvers with Sailing GetawaySailcoop when it offers a departure from Concarneau and Beg-Meil. Embark on board a habitable catamaran from the Fouesnant Cornouaille Nautical Center and enjoy a unique experience and create your own program (variable duration, overnight stay possible on board). Cast off the moorings on an old rig 

Under sail, aboard an old sailing ship, the Odet lugger, pull the tacks and become a sailor for the duration of an unforgettable crossing on the turquoise waters of this beautiful lagoon. Outward crossing in an old sailing ship (duration approximately 2 hours). Free stopover on the island of Saint-Nicolas.
