    From May to September, you can make the most of the beaches, water sports and events. Summer (July-August) is the busiest period, while April-May and September-October offer a quieter setting, ideal for enjoying the destination in complete tranquillity.

  • Is there a market in Fouesnant?

    Yes, the main market is held in the town centre on Friday mornings all year round. On Saturday mornings, there’s an organic market in front of the church. In summer, additional markets are held in Beg-Meil and Mousterlin.

  • Where can I park in Fouesnant-les Glénan?

    In Fouesnant-les Glénan, all car parks are free! Some car parks, mainly in the town centre, are time-limited (blue zone) and require a parking disc (available free of charge on request from the Tourist Office).
    Numerous car parks are available close to the beaches. Tip: Make sure you get to the beach early, as some car parks can fill up quickly, or take your bike!

  • How do I get to the Glénan Islands?

    Maritime companies operate crossings from Beg-Meil, Bénodet, Concarneau and Port-la-Forêt from April to September, using a range of boats (passenger launches, sailing boats, catamarans, old riggers, zodiacs, etc.). Bookings can be made at the Tourist Office or with the companies.

  • Can you visit Ile Saint-Nicolas all year round?

    No, the Glénan archipelago is only accessible from April to October by passenger boat. You moor on the island of Saint-Nicolas, where a platform has been laid out for you to walk around.

  • How much does a trip to the Glénan Islands cost?

    Prices vary according to the company and the type of excursion (with or without stopover, tour of the archipelago, sailing or motor, etc.). Allow around forty euros for an adult (introductory price).

  • Do I need to book well in advance?

    Yes, it is advisable to book your crossing at least 48 hours in advance, and even 72 hours in high season (July-August), as places sell out fast. Before booking, remember to check the weather: there’s no shelter or shade in Les Glénan. Bring a cap, a hat and something to protect you from the sun… and always a little wool!

  • Can you swim in the Glénan?

    Yes, the beaches are magnificent, with turquoise waters that invite you to take a dip. However, the water can be cooler as the islands lie offshore.
    Please note: bathing is not supervised on the islands. Please take care.

  • Are bicycles allowed?

    No, bicycles are not allowed on Ile Saint-Nicolas. The island is small and does not lend itself to bicycles. A wooden platform, accessible on foot, allows you to walk around the island in 30 to 45 minutes.

  • What's for dinner in Les Glénan?

    Restaurants on the islands are limited. If you don’t book in advance, it’s best to bring your own picnic. And as always in the great outdoors, please take all your rubbish with you, including cigarette butts.

  • Are dogs allowed?

    Yes, dogs are allowed if kept on a lead. They can accompany you around the island and use the signposted paths, but they are not allowed on the beaches from 1 June to 30 September.
    Please note that not all shipping companies transport pets. Please enquire before boarding.

  • What are the best beaches in Fouesnant-les Glénan?

    Cap-Coz, Bot-Conan, Les Dunes and Mousterlin are among the most popular. Each beach has its own charm: white sand, shallow waters or unspoilt coves… there’s something for everyone! With over 13 beaches spread across the commune, you’re bound to find one that suits you.

  • Are the beaches supervised?

    Yes, the beaches of Cap-Coz, Kerambigorn, Maner Coat Clévarec and Kerler are supervised in July and August. The lifeguard posts are well signposted.

  • Are there any naturist areas in Fouesnant-les Glénan?

    Naturism is practised on an isolated part of Kerler beach, to the east of Mousterlin. Naturists are welcome on a 1km stretch of the beach, signposted and accessible from 1 May to 31 October, from 10am until sunset.

  • Are there showers on the beaches?

    No, there are no showers on the beaches of Fouesnant. Access to fresh water is limited, and this precious resource is preserved.

  • Are dogs allowed on beaches?

    Dogs are not allowed on the beaches from 1 June to 30 September. Outside this period, they are permitted, always on a lead. Off the beaches, you can access the GR34 coastal path and the slipways.

  • What activities are available in Fouesnant-les Glénan?

  • Are there any hiking trails?

    No, the Tourist Office does not take direct bookings. However, it does provide a selection of accommodation and an online search engine. It can also help you find the package that’s right for you.

  • Where can I park my van or motorhome?

    There are two campervan parks in Fouesnant-les Glénan. A parking area at Mousterlin and a parking and service area at Leclerc de Pleuven. Vans and motorhomes can also book a bare pitch at one of the many campsites in the area.

  • Where can I find fish and seafood?

    You have several options for enjoying seafood:

    At the fishmonger’s: the “Cabioch & Fils” mobile fishmonger is open Tuesday to Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm in front of the town hall.
    Markets: Friday mornings in the town centre.
    Oyster farms: at La Forêt-Fouesnant, two shellfish farms sell their oysters and clams direct. Don’t forget to come early for a wide choice, especially in high season!
    Restaurants: There are many restaurants in the commune specialising in seafood, and every traditional restaurant has at least one fish on its menu.
    Direct from the boat: some fishermen offer direct sales of their catches, as soon as they return to port.

  • Where can I find the programme of events?

    All events are available in the Agenda section of our website. You can filter them by date or by type of event (concert, show, market, etc.). A paper programme is also available from the Tourist Office, fortnightly in summer and monthly the rest of the year.

  • Are there any activities for children?

    Yes, there are plenty of activities on offer for all ages: beach clubs, treasure hunts, treasure hunts, nature workshops, sailing courses at the sailing centre, sports activities and supervised summer camps. Some are open all year round, while others are offered during the school holidays or in summer. Ask at the Tourist Office or on our website for details of the formulas and periods.
