Les Vedettes de l'Odet "Nature in the spotlight!
Come aboard Les Vedettes de l'Odet for a cruise and discover the most beautiful maritime sites in Southern Brittany: from the Glénan archipelago to the Odet river, via Concarneau bay.
- The River Odet: The prettiest river in France!
Starting from Bénodet, travel up the River Odet to Quimper. All along the way, you'll come across some splendidly charming residences. The Château de Kerembleis, the Manoir du Rosulien, the Château du Pérennou and its magnificent park containing trees over a hundred years old, not forgetting the Orangerie de Lanniron and its formal gardens. The comments of the enthusiastic guide will take you back to the days of the chatelains, with some surprising anecdotes. A true discovery of Cornouaille.
The lush countryside along the Odet offers a peaceful, bucolic setting. Its wooded banks, with thorny forests and rhododendrons in bloom in spring, offer a veritable palette of colours, all flown over by numerous seabirds and river birds such as little egrets, grey herons, terns and the Belon shelduck. The Grande Croisière Promenade lets you discover all the secrets of this unspoilt area.
From Bénodet to Sainte Marine, there's only the Odet to cross, and it's so much more pleasant aboard the P'tit Bac.
This is a great opportunity to relax in one of the two harbours or hike along the GR34. You can also cross the river at Pont l'Abbé between Loctudy and Ile Tudy to enjoy the gentle way of life in the Pays Bigouden, from one port to the next.
- The Glénan Islands: a must-see destination in South Finistère!
Visiting the Glénan archipelago for a day or half-day means travelling to dream islands without jet lag. Here, the turquoise waters and fine sandy beaches invite you to experience a change of scenery from distant islands, hence the nickname of the Breton Caribbean!
After an hour's crossing, the boat docks on the island of Saint Nicolas, capital of the archipelago. The scenery is heavenly, and nobody lives there all year round. Saint Nicolas is home to a few second homes, the International Diving Centre, the Glénans Sailing School and two cafés and restaurants.
A walk along the decking provides a 360° view of the islands and the beautiful stretches of beach. The Tombolo de Saint Nicolas, a magnificent sandbank uncovered at low tide, joins the islet of Bananec and invites you to laze on its dazzling white sand. Take a selfie to immortalise your day! The Glénan archipelago has seven main islands and several rocky islets. Each island has its own special features: the Guiriden sandbank, Penfret with its lighthouse, Cigogne and its fort, the Loc'h beach and Drenec with its nautical base.
The flora and fauna of the Glénan Islands are particularly well protected. The Saint Nicolas and Ile aux Moutons nature reserves are home to many species of seabird. In the spring, the Bretagne Vivante association carries out counts to check how often these sites are visited, particularly by the terns, gravelots and oystercatchers that come to nest at the top of the dunes. In April, many naturalists come to observe the flowering of the Glénan Narcissus, an endemic species. The dense and colourful aquatic vegetation offers a unique spectacle for divers. Scuba diving, snorkelling or simply aboard Capitaine Némo, the catamaran with underwater vision, for a dive without getting wet in the largest aquarium in the world: the Atlantic.
The famous Glénans sailing school welcomes hundreds of trainees every year. For some future sailors, learning becomes a passion. From St Nicolas it's also possible to hire a kayak to sail freely around the archipelago and paddle from island to island.
Want to visit the Glénan Islands non-stop? Come aboard a 48-seater speedboat to discover Ile aux Moutons and the Glénan archipelago non-stop.
A peaceful refuge for a colony of grey seals, Ile aux Moutons is home to a rich ornithological reserve where terns, oystercatchers and gravelots nest. The trip continues to the Glénan islands, between the Penfret lighthouse, the Fort de Cigogne and the white sandy beaches of Guiriden and Le Loch. The Captain shares his knowledge and anecdotes about nature and maritime heritage.
A unique experience, combining observation, relaxation and wonder.
As you can see, it's up to you to choose the cruise option that suits you best to make the most of your day in the Glénan Islands: Escape, Discover the Archipelago, Glénan non-stop, Nature's Grandeur, Underwater Exploration or Sea Kayaking Escapade.
- Concarneau Bay: one of the most beautiful bays in Brittany!
A town of art and history, Concarneau is famous for its walled town and its Festival des Filets Bleus. But it's also a seaside town waiting to be discovered.
Take a one-hour guided cruise and visit Concarneau from the sea. After casting off from the fishing port, you'll sail around the Ville Close and the marina before taking a trip into the bay. Here, the panorama of the ocean extends 180°, from the Pointe du Cabellou to the Pointe de Beg Meil.
The Concarneau - Beg-Meil sea link takes you to the Fouesnant area in just 30 minutes. The typical little port of Beg-Meil, with its sandy coves, its coastal path leading up to the semaphore and its authentic village will not leave you indifferent. From Beg Meil, it's easy to make a stopover in Concarneau to visit the big Friday market and enjoy the summer entertainment in the fortified town: Leave your car at Beg Meil and make it easy to get around!
Hikers, you can admire the beauty of the Breton landscape along the GR34 coastal path.
For around twenty kilometres, you'll be able to explore the Cap Coz headland, the pontoons of Port-la-Forêt and the Saint Laurent cove.
- Maritime links: Come aboard the P'tit Bac to cross from one shore to the other!
From Bénodet to Sainte Marine, all you have to do is cross the Odet, via the Cornouaille bridge or, better still, by boat for a colourful trip out to sea.
From Loctudy to Ile Tudy, the pedestrian ferry is a great way to get around the river at Pont l'Abbé and cross from one port to another in the Pays Bigouden.
With the P'tit Bac, crossings are easy, fast and fun, and accessible to pushchairs and bicycles for our walking and cycling friends and for families with children.
Simplify your journeys and enjoy a short boat trip!
New for 2025: Make the loop between Bénodet and Loctudy. Take the boat out and walk or cycle back. Accessible to all with the P'tit Bac crossings and the GR34 walk (7 km). From 8 July to 23 August.
