During the summer, the Archipel hosts the work of two visual artists (painters, photographers, printmakers, etc.) from the Fouesnant area – whether amateur or professional – every week.
This week’s programme features: Frédéric Cadiou and Lisa Sagnet
- Frédéric Cadiou, painting – ink and acrylic
Frédéric Cadiou is a painter born in 1980 and originally from Fouesnant, where his studio is based (at Cap Coz).
His works capture suspended moments where nature engages with human perception. Cast shadows, slender lines, pared-back compositions: each painting reveals a subtle tension between depth and minimalism. Through a masterful use of colour and bold contrasts, the artist creates calm, almost meditative atmospheres. The eye is drawn towards the horizon, amidst silence, space and contemplation. - Lisa Sagnet, pastel, etching and mezzotint
A graduate of EESAB Quimper (European Higher School of Art of Brittany), Lisa Sagnet is an artist who began her career in the field of printmaking. Between her relentless dedication to drawing and her voracious exploration of new printmaking techniques, she went on to add many more strings to her bow by learning and teaching the subtleties of the printed line. In 2023, she co-founded a printmaking studio: the Graphlab.
In her work, images take shape in the twilight and are draped in a dark veil. The figures emerge from rocks and ruins, exploring their heritage. Somewhere between a black-and-white graphic novel and the photographic details of faded indoor memories, mezzotint, etching and drawing combine to bring to life the discoveries of everyday life.
