During the summer, the Archipel hosts the work of two visual artists (painters, photographers, printmakers, etc.) from the Fouesnant area – whether amateur or professional – every week. This week’s programme features: Patrick J. Davidson and Dominique Hardouin - Patrick J. Davidson, watercolour “Having spent many years sailing aboard ‘Maossi II’, the family’s 9m boat, Patrick J. Davidson retains a sense of nostalgia for a certain era of recreational sailing; varnished wood, copper and cotton sails are therefore a constant feature in his works. He is particularly fond of watercolour and graphite drawing. These different techniques allow him to express his full artistic sensibility. The simplicity of his works is underpinned by a balanced graphic composition, as well as a palette of soft and varied tones.” Bertrand de Mascarel - Dominique Hardouin, mixed media A graduate in architecture from the École des Arts Appliqués in Lyon, Dominique Hardouin has been teaching academic drawing and painting techniques for 30 years. Her work is, above all, inspired by nature. She observes, sketches, draws and paints. Her love of trees has always been a driving force and an inexhaustible theme for many years. Light, the sea and the coastline are also among her sources of inspiration.
