On the programme in Clohars-Fouesnant: Maestras: women composers
Often overlooked or forgotten, women musicians and composers of the Baroque period played an important musical role, leaving us a magnificent repertoire that deserves to be honoured. Julia Barat on vocals, Arthur Soulès on violin and Jérôme Brodin on harpsichord offer you a programme based on works by Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, a great French composer of the Baroque period, and Barbara Strozzi, an Italian singer and composer of the 17th century. You will hear sacred and secular cantatas as well as purely instrumental music.
