Description
Café Carbone events are discussions in which Claire L’Hostis and specialist speakers lead a conversation about practical solutions (cooking, DIY, gardening, etc.) for reducing one’s carbon footprint.
On the agenda for this Café Carbone: Repairing everyday items
A toaster that no longer heats up, a temperamental lamp, a small appliance that no longer works as it used to… What if we learnt to understand the fault rather than simply throwing the item away?
During this co-repair workshop, L’Objethèque de Cornouaille will guide participants through diagnosing and repairing their everyday items. Everyone will be given step-by-step guidance on how to observe, take things apart, test them, understand the fault and try to fix them.
This session will help you discover the right habits to extend the lifespan of your gadgets, take away practical advice, and share tips in a friendly atmosphere that’s open to everyone.
The Objethèque de Cornouaille is an object library based in Quimper. It allows people to borrow everyday items — for DIY, gardening, cooking, leisure and events — just as one borrows books. The organisation also runs workshops on repairs, making things and raising awareness about re-use. Its aim is to promote the sharing of objects and skills, whilst reducing waste and encouraging a ‘do-it-yourself’ approach.
