Description
Since the start of her career in the late 2000s, Noëmi Waysfeld has been pushing the boundaries of musical genres. Whilst she took her first steps by exploring the popular repertoire, she is equally interested in traditional, popular and classical music. She soon began recording and performing with ensembles and orchestras. At the same time, she regularly sang the songs of Barbara. It was therefore only natural for her to dedicate an album and a show to the songs of the ‘Lady in Black’. In 2024, together with composer Fabien Cali and the Avignon-Provence National Orchestra, she created the concert *Noëmi Waysfeld sings Barbara*. This concert continues to tour today alongside several French orchestras, including the Orchestre National de Bretagne, which remains ever curious and eager for musical adventures.
Noëmi Waysfeld’s voice – with its warm timbre, slight huskiness and perfect diction – is ideal for this project. Without ever imitating Barbara, she celebrates the singer’s raw emotion, sincerity and elegance. Fabien Cali’s orchestral arrangements envelop her beautifully, reminding us that, as well as being a poet and a singer, Barbara was also a composer of great talent.
