Annie Ebre[ – Songs of Central Brittany: Kan ha diskan and gwerzioù
Annie Ebrel is one of Brittany’s greatest voices, renowned for her remarkable mastery of Kan Ha Diskan, her vibrant renditions of the Gwerzioù and her ability to transcend musical boundaries.
A fluent speaker of Breton, she draws on her family roots for a deep connection to this language and this vocal tradition. Since her debut in 1983, and particularly since her contribution to the 1989 album ‘Aux sources du Barzaz Breizh aujourd’hui’, this accomplished artist has successfully developed her art through a series of prestigious artistic collaborations, whilst remaining true to the very essence of traditional Breton folk singing.
